Mariah will be working to advance the Chapter’s work to reduce Maryland’s climate pollution in a meaningful and equitable way, with a focus on building electrification and growing clean energy.

Prior to joining the Maryland Chapter, Mariah had worked for the Oregon Chapter of the Sierra Club since 2019, serving as Volunteer Coordinator then Communications Coordinator. Mariah has also served as a federal lobbyist for the Sustainable Energy and Environment program at the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL). Mariah graduated from Macalester College with a B.A in anthropology, minors in American studies and history, and a concentration in human rights and humanitarianism.

When not working, Mariah loves to explore Rock Creek Park, garden, and generally get outside in any way possible. You can also find her swimming, biking, and running - and doing all three in triathlons!
