Maryland Sierra Club is honored by this appointment. We look forward to shaping the conversation about funding clean transportation projects in Maryland that improve mobility for everyone and cut unhealthy pollution.

Josh Tulkin expressed enthusiasm for serving on the commission, saying “I am honored for this significant opportunity to help shape the discussion on Maryland’s future clean transportation funding policies.”

The Transportation Commission on Revenue and Infrastructure Needs was established by SB 24 to explore ways the state can generate revenue for transportation projects and recommended practices for prioritizing transportation needs, including legislative and local priorities. The appointment of Commission members is for two years from July 1, 2023. The commission will issue an interim report on its findings by January 2024 and a final report by January 2025. The Commission consists of state and local government leaders as well as representatives from transportation, industry, business, labor, and environmental organizations.
