VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP
- Be a local leader and join our group to help plan our beyond gas campaign
- Make calls to other Sierra Club members to build our activist network
EVENTS
- Host house parties & film screenings
- Identify places for and arrange larger screenings
- Create film discussion guides
- Identify outreach/tabling opportunities (fairs, festivals, etc.)
- Staff tables at outreach events
- Organize events/screenings for churches or community groups (your own or others)
ADVOCACY & PETITIONING
- Collect petition signatures
Attend public meetings on regulations- Advocate for local (county or municipality) bans
- Develop presentation materials for speaking engagements
- Participate in “speakers bureau”
RESEARCH & WRITING
- Develop fact sheets
- Document pipeline issues/catastrophes
- Write letters to the editor
- Review and research regulations
- Social media guru - develop posts, tweets, links, etc.
BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS
- Outreach to VIPs to demonstrate support
- Do business outreach (anti-pipeline wineries, fishers, artists, etc.)
- Develop relationships with local media: press/bloggers/radio/etc.
CREATIVE
- Graphic design
- Flyer design
- Photographer at events
- Videographer at events
- Create slideshow of vulnerable sites in Maryland
