Page Number Confusion: Between 2005v49-5 and 2010v54-1, electronic files on web site have split 9 Echo issues into 2 or 3 separate electronic files (due to excessive file size). Be aware that the electronic file page numbers for each file start at 1 and thus (for files 2 and 3) are different than the page number shown at the bottom of the pages. (Exception: For v52-1 file 3, page numbers indicated at bottom of pages {of electronic copy} have been changed to match the electronic file page numbers and thus are different than the page numbers shown on the bottom of the pages in the printed copies of the Echo.) Adding to the confusion, electronic files for file 3 of issues v51-4, v52-1, and v52-2 repeat Echo page 1 at the beginning of file 3, offsetting the page numbering by one.

Past Echo format  Changes

Echo 1962v6-1p3 indicates that past Echos were printed by liquid duplicators ("ditto") limiting quantity to about 175 copies. Now, the mimeograph process can print an unlimited number of copies, and copies will be printed on both sides to reduce postage.
Echo 1968v12-8 may have been first issue with photo of mountains on cover.
Echo 1981v25-6 was printed on blue paper.
Echo 1995v39-6 was first issue printed on 11x17 paper (one issue only).
Echo 1996v40-6 and later issues were printed on 11x17 paper.
Echo 2006v50-2 &-3 digital copies (on web site) are 11x17.
Echo 2006v50-3 is marked as Winter 2006.
It should probably have been marked Fall 2006 or Winter 2007.
Echo 2008v52-3 was last paper copy distributed to all members.
Echo copies before 2009 are scanned PDF format.
Echo copies since 2009 were prepared as digital format.

With a few exceptions...The Sierra Echo started out in 1957 with 6 issues per volume, then 7, then 11 or 12 issues (one year, 1968), then 9 (in 1969) or 10 (1970 or 1971?), then 7 (in 1974) for a number of years (8 in 1976), then 6 in 1989, 3 in 2006 or 2007, and finally settled on 4 in 2007 or 2008. The Newsletter web page now contains a complete list (and a link to a copy) of all Echo issues.

Cover Errata: Jan 1969 V13-1 cover is marked V12#12; May-June 1967 V11-2 cover is marked V10-2. I believe the date, volume, and issue number on other title pages are correct. (If you know of any others that are incorrect, please notify the webmaster.)

Rear Cover Errata: 1988-V32-1 was the first issue with date-volume-issue number on the rear cover. A possible point of confusion is that this info on the rear covers is incorrect on the issues noted below.

1996 V40 #1: Rear cover indicates 1995
1996 V40 #3 May-Jun: Rear cover indicates Jun-Jul
1996 V40 #4 Jul-Aug: Rear cover indicates Aug-Sep
1998 V42 #4: Rear cover does not indicate date/issue
2000 V44-1 & -2: Rear cover indicates V43 #6 Nov-Dec 1999

2021 V65 #2: Rear cover indicates V65 #1
