$10,000 Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Challenge

Double my gift!

Dear Friend,

Our climate is not waiting for those in power to start making responsible environmental decisions. This winter’s record storms were a clear reminder of that, as they wreaked havoc in our region, heavily damaging iconic communities like Capitola. What we choose to do next will have a critical impact, so please help us
ensure a healthy and more resilient tomorrow.

Every day the Loma Prieta Chapter is called upon to defend the right to clean air,
water, and the recreation, health, and prosperity that come with them. Today I’m asking
you to rise to that challenge and give a gift of $35, $50, or $100, and ... until April 15th, your gift will be doubled dollar-for-dollar!

Thanks to support from people like you, we are helping cities take bold action to accelerate the transition from infrastructure that burns fossil fuels to all-electric buildings using green energy. With every approved all-electric code or updated Climate Action Plan, our cities reduce emissions and take a step closer to fulfilling their climate goals.

Along the San Francisco Bay, our tenacious team urges and supports cities like Redwood City, Palo Alto, and Sunnyvale in restoring the Bay edge using nature-based solutions to protect wildlife habitat and local communities in preparation for sea-level rise. In San Jose, we continue to advocate for the permanent preservation of Coyote Valley, the last unpaved valley floor in our region, and for the protection of the Guadalupe River from encroaching developments so that wildlife can thrive everywhere.

Across our region, we continue promoting the best leaders running for office in order to help us ensure that the best environmental protections become a part of the law. We educate and provide the needed experience to volunteer environmental advocates to ensure our voice for a healthy and just tomorrow is heard loud and clear, and our actions are successful. Additionally, after a difficult time during the pandemic, we help people to explore the healing beauty of our local nature while enlisting them to protect it.

Although we never accept state or federal funds, and only a sliver of your membership dues paid to Sierra Club National is returned to your local chapter, our successful work can continue because our movement is people-powered and people-funded. To remain a champion for our local environment, we need you to be a part of our community. Please join us by making a gift to help us meet the historic opportunity to protect wildlands, stabilize our climate, and ensure clean air and water for future generations.

The seas may be rising, but so are we,
